Andrej, Jessica, Kaiya and Tobi

We are a wee bit behind on blogging these days. My only excuse is my lack motivation because I have plenty of material. Andrej's excuse is a little better as he has been extremely busy with work and side projects. We did start a post about our trip to Slovakia, but it is currently stuck in production. Andrej had a great idea that we would write the post together, kind of tag team blogging, where he would write a paragraph and then I would write a paragraph. It is all of two paragraphs long and sitting idly in our drafts folder. Andrej's free time has been spent working on this website and programming an online registration for an upcoming conference in Slovakia. My free time over the last few months has been focused on my latest obsession. I have spent many hours researching, reading reviews, emailing, chatting, deciding, purchasing, washing and using my new stash of cloth diapers. Tobi and I are now a month into my latest venture and I am surprised at how easy, and dare I say, fun cloth diapering is. I am extremely happy with the different types of diapers I purchased and really wish I woud have started when Kaiya was a baby. I definitely want to write more about our transition to cloth soon.

Also waiting in the drafts folder, behind the Slovakia Trip post and the Cloth Diapering post is Tobi's six month update. It actually started out as a 4 month update, then I changed it to 5 months after we got back from Slovakia. Then after his 6 month check-up, I once again had to edit the title. If that doesn't seem like I'm far enough behind, next week we will celebrate Tobi's 7 month birthday. Where does the time go? I will finish the post because let's face it, our little man has changed so much since the last time I wrote an update at three months. He now sleeps through the night, eats pureed foods, sits up unassisted and is beginning to go mobile by sliding across the floor on his belly. He continues to be a happy, smiley baby that giggles and laughs at just about everything.

While I'm on the subject of updates, our sweet Kaiya definitely deserves one as well. She is growing, maturing and her precious personality is in full bloom. Her vocabulary is increasing by leaps and bounds and she loves to sing. We have been trying to get her singing on video for weeks so we can share that with you all as well. She usually puts on this cute knit hat and declares it her "singing hat" and belts out such tunes as Jesus Loves Me, The ABC Song, Itsey Bitsey Spider and Row Your Boat.

I haven't even started a post about the fantastic time we had with my parents over Thanksgiving, finding and decorarting our Christmas tree, or all the snow we have and how much Kaiya loves playing in it. I told you I have plenty of material, but there is the tiny problem of my motivation. I am really hoping that before the new year, Andrej and I will be able to get caught up and start fresh and new in 2008. However, just in case these posts don't happen for a while, I am going to upload all the pictures we have to keep the grandparents happy. I usually like to wait until posts are finished before adding new pictures, but looking at our track record that may not happen for a while.

You can find our Slovakia pictures here. Most of the pictures were taken by family members, and we are so thankful. We realized that with two kids there aren't any free hands for snapping pictures. There are only two pictures from our time in Zilina and that makes me really sad. If any of you Zilincania reading this have pictures from our time there, please send them our way so we can add them to our album. I guess we will just have to go back!

I guess in the time it took me to write this post and link to all those photos, I could have finished a couple of the pending posts. Oh well, at least there are hundreds of new pictures to keep you all busy for a little while.
