latestgailcd-003.jpgEvery night before singing Kaiya her final song and saying goodnight, I pray for her. I've done this pretty much every night since she was born. A few months ago, in an attempt to rush through our bedtime routine due to the late hour, I forgot to say the prayer. She looked up at me and said, "Mama, say payer." I was disappointed that of all the things she had to remind me of it was the prayer, but in the process realized that maybe she would like to start saying her own prayers. (Read more …)

dsc02974.jpgFriday, Tobi and I met Andrej at our doctor's office for his two week check-up. It is so hard to believe it has only been two weeks since little Tobs joined us. It really seems like much longer. I was slightly nervous about the appointment because when we took Kaiya in for her two week appointment, she freaked out and wanted to nurse the entire time. She spit-up and pooped and we ended up changing her clothes several times. However, Tobi was a different story. He slept the entire time. He slept through the weighing and measuring and poking and prodding and didn't really open his eyes until Dr. B. brought out the cold stethoscope. He got a really good report, minus the small amount of thrush she noticed in his mouth. We both left with prescriptions, and other than that, our Tobi is a healthy growing baby boy. (Read more …)

I did it and it was relatively painless! Whether I wanted to or not, I left my twenties behind and woke up this morning as a 30 year old. In honor of my thirtieth birthday, I decided to write 30 random facts about this 30 year old. I got this idea from my friend and fellow bloggin' buddy Ellen, who wrote her 30 facts last fall. I remember reading her list thinking what a great idea and how I would like to do something similar when my birthday rolled around. At the time my birthday seemed ages away.
