Easter PictureLast weekend was a whirlwind of events, but we still took time to enjoy the sunshine, each other and remember what Christ did for us. Good Friday was great Friday in that Andrej had to work only half a day. Kaiya and I so enjoy having Daddy around during the day! Saturday was kicked off by a trip to the ole dentist. We usually try to put off our six month appointments as long as we possibly can, and not because we are afraid of the dentist. We actually have a wonderful dentist who holds Saturday hours without any assistance from hygienists or dental assistants. Because of this we have gotten to know Dr. Neuman and really like him. We however do not look forward to any bad news he has for us, as our dental insurance isn't that great and we usually end up paying quite a bit to keep our mouths healthy. Paying for Andrej's root canal last year was painful, literally and fiscally. However, Saturday we got good reports! No cavities! Andrej does have an old filling that needs to be replaced because he has been having a good bit of pain. We are praying that the replacement will do the trick and no further work will need to be done. Dr. Neuman also gave Kaiya her first "real" toothbrush. So far, we have been brushing her little teeth with a rubber brush that fits over my finger. She really likes it, or maybe it's the fruity baby "toothpaste" that goes on the tip. Speaking of Kaiya's teeth, she now has two more coming in. They look really funny because she is getting one big one on the top and another on the bottom. That's a total of three on the bottom and one on the top. Hopefully, they will even out soon.

FridgeWe can barely keep up with our little mover and shaker. Kaiya is adding new tricks to her bag by the day. She has perfected her crawl and is really really fast. She makes mad dashes for things with the cutest expression of determination on her face. She also pulls up on anything and everything from chairs to the coffee table to our legs, and yes, even the refrigerator. She is also able to transfer herself from the couch to the coffee table and between chairs. She likes the challenge, but it scares me to watch her take those little unsteady steps. It is no wonder she is getting good at that trick because she has been getting lots of practice in her crib as she prefers scaling the rails to actually napping.

Other fun tricks are the sounds she is adding to her vocabulary. My personal favorite has of course been the addition of mummum-mamama! It melts my heart every time, even if she has no clue that she is referring to me. After months of saying, "Kaiya, say mama" and having her answer, "Da-da-da-da" this has been so exciting. She also likes clicking her tongue and smacking her lips. These sounds bring her so much joy and even more when we click and smack right along with her.

Andrej has also taught her to move her arm across her lips to get the nice vibrating sound effect. He started by using his own finger and she would even grab his hand and bring it back to her mouth if he stopped. However, a few days ago she figured out how to do it by herself by using her arm. She also prefers practicing this trick to napping as well. (see this video)

Last but not least, she has added head nodding to her bag of tricks. I'm not sure if she is mimicking us nodding our heads or if she has found her rhythm, but nevertheless it's adorable. (see this video)

About two weeks ago I decided to start an experiment. I noticed that I get asked certain questions about computers more than once so I started putting answers to those questions on a separate blog (I didn't want to talk much about computers on this family blog). It is mainly for my friends that I have previously helped with computer stuff but since it's on the Internet, it can benefit whoever happens to stumble upon it. So we'll see how it goes. Oh yeah, the address is www.andrejciho.com.
