Kaiya has been rolling over both ways for a few months now. She doesn’t really seem to like it and rolls only when a toy is just out of reach or by accident. My cousin’s baby at six months rolled everywhere. He would roll from one side of the room to the other then they would turn him around and he would roll back. For whatever reason, Kaiya has never taken to the rolling thing. Which is why last weekend, when she was screaming at the top of her lungs halfway through her nap, Andrej was shocked to find her on her tummy. She had rolled over, pulled up on her bumper and was looking through the crib slats. It would have been really cute except she was crying hysterically. It took at least fifteen minutes of soothing to calm her down. Since then she has practiced the trick many times, mostly at the end of her nap (thankfully), and screams when she can’t get back down from the bumper. However, during her morning nap today I flipped the little burger three times before she finally stayed put and fell asleep. I’m really hoping my budding gymnast tires of this soon. If anyone has any advice or experience with this, please please comment.

The past six months have been absolutely amazing. It has been such a privilege to watch Kaiya grow and develop and take hold of our hearts in a way words can't even explain. She has changed and learned so much over the past six months. We have equally changed and learned so much over the past six months. She has grown from this tiny little seven-pounder into an eighteen pound chunky-monkey complete with the most adorable rolls and dimples. Kaiya tops the percentile charts in both height (97th percentile) and weight (90th percentile) and has hit every developmental milestone right on target. We are so proud! She babbles and "talks" so much. I can't imagine how it's going to be when those sounds turn into words and sentences. She has two teeth on the bottom and due to her excessive drooling, chewing on things and of course the crankiness lately we believe the top two are on their way. Kaiya is an incredible night sleeper (like her mom). She sleeps about twelve hours and we rarely hear a peep out of her. However, naps are a different story. She falls asleep easily, but is up anywhere from half an hour to an hour. We tried almost every trick to get her to take longer naps and eventually gave up and decided not to complain since we all get good rest at night. So, mom gets three short breaks throughout the day and Kaiya recharges just enough to get her to the next nap. She is so much fun and brings us more joy than we could have ever imagined. We thank God each day for the wonderful gift He has given us. The following are a few of Kaiya's favorite things.

Welcome to our redesigned website. Based on recommendations from Ryan and Topher, I decided to give WordPress another try and integrate our website and our blog. To make sure that all credit goes where it's due, I have to admit that I didn't design this front page myself. I downloaded a free theme called Connections by Patricia Muller and modified it. We hope you enjoy it. If you have any recommendations for change, leave a comment.

We just got back from a Chinese restaurant where, together with friends, we got to celebrate my successful passing of the Humanities 6-credit CLEP test. I thank all of you who were praying and encouraging me before the test. I still can't believe I passed it.

Other events? I cleaned up our basement and now I have huge a pile that needs to go to trash and a big pile that needs to be taken to CompRenew. Anyone in need of an older 21 inch or 15 inch monitor? Or Pentium III computers?
